Vitex or Agnus castus or chaste tree contains active substances that help regulate the balance between estrogen and progesterone, which can help reduce the duration and frequency of PMS. The WHO recognizes the use of chasteberry to treat menstrual cycle irregularities, to relieve premenstrual syndrome and mastalgia (breast pain). Other studies indicate that chasteberry could help in female infertility due to a lack of progesterone. Chaste tree would also reproduce the action of dopamine.
