Risk information

A laxative should not be taken within 2 hours of another drug, as the effect of the other drug may be reduced.

Produces an action in 6 to 12 hours.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not use if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

Do not use in the presence of intestinal obstruction, chronic gastrointestinal disorders, hemorrhoids, severe abdominal pain, ulcerative colitis, appendicitis, diarrhea, loose stools, nausea, dehydration, fever or vomiting.

Do not use if you are taking thiazide diuretics, corticosteroids, licorice root or other drugs likely to aggravate electrolyte imbalance.

KNOWN SIDE EFFECTS

Excessive or prolonged use may lead to dependence on intestinal function.

Keep out of reach of children.
